AHEAD is seeking a self-motivated, organized, analytical and scalability-focused Compensation Manager to join our growing People & Culture team.
The Compensation Manager works in Human Resources focusing on the analysis of employee salaries and benefits to ensure both are equitable and competitive, while driving compensation as a priority for the organization. The Compensation Manager will research job requirements and evaluate job positions to ensure the company is executing on the promise of a competitive compensation philosophy that retains our employees and attracts top talent. This role works in a flexible hybrid office/remote setting and reports directly to the Director, Total Rewards. Individuals with a background working with development and design of compensation plans, bonus programs, and commission plan design will thrive in this role as they are given flexibility to create new processes and explore new methods for continuous improvement of currently processes and procedures; as well as lead implementation of any new systems that maximize efficiency gains as AHEAD continues to soar in growth.

Responsibilities
- Lead compensation projects which impact salary and bonus updates as well as bonus and commission plan design with high visibility leaders across the company
- Responsible for administering plan designs to help facilitate commission and bonus plan calculations on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Develop compensation planning, process, and guidelines for adoption throughout organization
- Provide education of both HRBPs, Recruiting and Business Stakeholders regarding compensation practices and strategy, including DEI best practices
- Continually evaluate compensation system and compensation process and enhance our processes and systems to ensure scalability for growth
- Design, run, and distribute compensation reports within UKG (HCM), paired with market information as necessary, to HR Business Partners to create an efficient and scalable delivery process
- Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, human resource procedures, and any other applicable legislation for the organization population
- Audit job description compliance and work with the recruiting and HRBP team to ensure any new job descriptions are created and maintained in real time
- Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position and maintain job classification and salary scales
- Participates in annual compensation surveys, ensuring to create a scalable process to maintain this as AHEAD continues to grow; prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information
- Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends
- Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information
- Designs, improves, and executes compensation processes and systems to ensure compliance, salary market competitiveness, and internal equity
- Assist P&C team and Commission team with other projects and duties needed
- Cohesive understanding of compensation and incentive compensation including commission plans, bonus plans, and equity plans
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 desired, with preference given to candidates who have a strong background working in Excel and compensation systems
- CCP, highly preferred
- Highly detailed, organized and analytical
- Positive and upbeat mentality, ability to work with diverse personalities and approach each situation with a customer-focused and solution-focused mindset
- Proficient communication and presentation skills - both written and oral
- Demonstrated ability to influence and consult
- Experience with project management, and change management
- Experience partnering with HR and DEI team to address and execute compensation strategies
- Familiarity with tech/IT focused pay structures
- Preferred: prior experience working in other HR functions, Accounting, or Finance
- Operates with a continuous improvement mindset
- Demonstrated agility to operate tactically and strategically in fast paced environment
- Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to project manage large enterprise projects
- Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Bachelor's Degree with at least 4-7 years of related compensation experience required OR no degree and 10+ years of relevant work experience
- CCP preferred
- Preference will be given to those candidates with commission incentive plan or sales commission plan analysis and/or design experience.
