Based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, this role can be an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a challenge yet looking for flexibility and expecting to be measured by results. Our Accounting Manager will obtain international exposure in a complex and sophisticated, fast-paced environment. From Day 1, you will be assisting in projects related to accounting, tax compliance, bookkeeping, corporate finance, etc.
Our accountant works as a business partner to our management team to ensure that the necessary processes and systems are implemented to meet the organization's strategic plan. Ensuring that efficient workflows, resident systems, and programming are in place. Our Accounting Manager will develop operational procedures and techniques plans to foster teamwork.
The ideal candidate is to have the ability to develop the accounting department further, aiming to aid the company in growth.
Accountant duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the completion of daily & quarterly reports for the institution.
- Analyse operations to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Assist the CFO in all strategic and tactical matters relating to cost control, cost benefit analysis, and forecasting needs.
- Ensure that adequate internal controls are in place and ensure compliance and regulatory guidance.
- Guarantee an appropriate registry of income, expenses, payables, and receivables.
Accountant Requirements
- Three years of experience in a bank with performing the whole accounting cycle.
- Undergraduate Degree or relevant work experience in business administration or similar relevant field.
- Experience handling loans and other bank products.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Critical thinker and problem solver
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Prepare and submit customer invoices
- Check, verify, and process suppliers’ invoices
- Prepare payments for signature
- Sort, code, and enter accounts payable data
- Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
- Maintain vendor files
- Produce the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process including review of general ledger postings.
- Produce balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
- Assist on the external annual audit process
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.
Salary Range: Starting at $50,000 annually
