We are offering Engineering Intern Development programs now in our Brake Controls prototype team. The program will provide exposure to engineering in our group headquarters in Livonia, Mi together with a strong practical element based in the prototype assembly lgroup.

Pay Rate: $20/hour

You will learn Prototype Assembly operations, Quality systems and procedures. Opportunity will be there to work additional shifts to earn more money or, after training, work flextible-part-time hours around your class schedule.

Typical example of your project work

• Assemble and dissemble prototype components.


• Take measurements of prototype components using various measuring equipment.


• Compile complete records of assembled product.


• Operate a variety of machining and/or assembly shop equipment.


• Maintain an organized and hazard-free work area in compliance with all ZF policies and governmental guidelines to ensure a safe and productive work environment.


• Work in accordance to 5S procedures.

Your Profile

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent. Enrolled full-time at an accredited university majoring in Mechanical or a related engineering degree.


• Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills, must be computer literate utilizing data spreadsheets, word processing and have the ability to learn and use custom software.


• Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills.


• Display personal maturity, flexibility and a high level of professionalism.


• Interested in practical applications and interested in working in a high paced manufacturing environment
