About the Role:

The Senior Director, People & Talent will work across all functional areas and groups. This person will report to the co-CEO. The leader will have oversight of People Operations, Business Partners, and Talent Acquisition functions. In addition to shaping our culture, this role will be instrumental in helping expand the effectiveness of the team by maximizing the potential of each team member.

As Senior Director, People & Talent, you will oversee an existing team of people located in NY, SF, UK and Colombia. The position may be onsite or remote. The ideal location for the candidate is New York. There is flexibility for the role to be based in San Francisco. You will also ensure that the company operates in a manner consistent with our core values of the company. The Senior Director, People and Talent will have three key areas of responsibility:

  • People Business Partner: Lead a team of several People Business Partners who are responsible for addressing employee relations issues and are organized by geographies, including North America, Europe/Asia Pacific, and Latin America. In addition, you will be the business partner to the executive and leadership team. 
  • Talent Acquisition: You will manage the development and implementation practices and policies necessary to identify, source, and select talent within and outside the company. You will manage the Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition. 
  • People Operations: You will oversee the People Operations Manager who is responsible for operations aspects of the HR administration function including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, employee data, onboarding, offboarding and performance reviews.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Leverage data and analytics to understand employee engagement and opportunities to enhance retention and satisfaction
  • Lead change management efforts as it relates to human capital
  • Develop and execute HR strategies, programs and initiatives that directly align with business plans and company strategies
  • Establish effective employee recognition programs
  • Deliver timely and informative employee communications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 5-7+ years of progressive HR Business partner leadership experience, with an additional 2-3 years leading the People/HR function, and demonstrated expertise in HR administration, processes, and procedures
  • Experience working in a high-growth (either venture or late-stage growth) SaaS or Hardware company
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Track record of building successful programs, consensus, and comfortable having both strategic and tactical responsibilities
  • Proven track record with employee development, and performance management in a fast paced, high-growth environment
  • Proven track record of building diverse and inclusive teams within tech 
  • Expertise in anticipating issues across the organization and recognizing opportunities and proactively developing initiatives
  • Bachelors degree required. Certifications in HR helpful (SPHR, GPHR)
