SUMMARY



Under supervision of the Sr. Compliance Specialist, will perform medical record review, medical record filing and management, medical record chart prep, medical record logs, and scanning paper medical records into the EMR/EHR system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Reviews, scans, and files patient medical records. Maintains adequate filing and retrieval systems to assure prompt availability of records.

  • Scan paper medical records into NextGen EMR/EHR.

  • Logs charts to be destroyed.

  • Demonstrates proper use of office equipment.

  • Recognizes and communicates issues/occurrences utilizing established lines of authority, and assists in identifying ways to resolve variances or unacceptable outcomes

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the CVP Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of HIPAA regulation, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

  • Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to clients, physicians, employees, and CVP business.

  • Demonstrates general working knowledge of computer software and hardware.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE



  • High school or equivalent

  • Preferred 1 year of experience in a medical office or health care facility.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with team members and all members of the compliance team. Able to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.

  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy and goals of CVP.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
