Job Title: Sr. Technical Analyst

Division & Department: i-Tech Solutions


Reports To: Manager, Managed Technical Solutions




Position Summary


This position provides installation, service, and support for GBS Solution applications, Healthcare and other industries. The position requires expert hardware, software and product knowledge covering the full spectrum of offerings for the purpose of implementing highly customized solutions in a live customer environment. The Sr. Technical Analyst should be adept at collaborating with the Manager of Technical Services (as well as) other Senior Management to discover organizational needs and translating those needs into an appropriate IT strategy and vision.




This position is also responsible for facilitating the planning and completion of MTS Migrations. It also requires the continuing education of other team members in order to allow them to be able to assist in the deployment of said migrations. This position will also work closely with other GBS teams as well as sales staff to ensure that Migrations Services are priced out properly.




This person should be able to communicate well, and work autonomously with Clients, fulfilling Client needs. Qualified individuals will work with various technical disciplines and cross-functional groups in a fast-paced environment that requires exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Installation and configuration of various application and operating systems including but not limited to Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating Systems, SQL Server, Microsoft Office Suite, O365 and M365, Internet Information Server, and any offered or customized application software as it relates to i-Tech Solutions on various hardware platforms

  • Complete on-site installation, design and support of i-Tech Solutions application software and offerings

  • Test, setup, integrate, and troubleshoot as needed any applicable servers, workstations, switches, routers, firewalls, printer, scanners, backup solutions, wireless connectivity, and power management

  • Microsoft SQL Administrative tasks

  • Integrate, service and maintain application databases

  • Perform software maintenance and upgrades as required

  • Provide administrative level customer training

  • Assist in continued product and solutions growth through new product testing, research, and development

  • Identify and recommend improvements and opportunities that are consistent with customer needs

  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with clients and vendors

  • Be available for on-call (after hours or weekend) as needed

  • Adapt to and manage changes in responsibilities as needed

  • Provide assistance as necessary with system setups for both new system sales and upgrades, utilizing staff when needed to provide assistance

  • Work with management to train personnel on technologies that GBS utilizes

  • Travel for consecutive days as required

  • Improve and modify our "Best Practices" procedures to promote higher levels of satisfaction and consistency of service delivery

  • Enhance the professional image of GBS

  • Join technical groups and/or subscribe to publications, which are pertinent to our goal of maintaining/developing state-of-the-art technology

  • Assist with high-level helpdesk support and on-site break/fix service calls, as needed

  • Provide hardware, network and technical implementation services, as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or assumes additional responsibilities as required

  • Work with Sales team to review all proposals to be presented to prospects and clients insuring items are priced our properly.

  • Assist the sales team with any pre-sale's discovery of potential migrations

  • Continue to monitor and evaluate pricing models of migrations to make sure ongoing costing is kept up date.

  • Work closely with Project Manager on timelines and deadlines of migrations.

  • Archive necessary documentation related to migrations for future reference.


Required Skills and Abilities



  • A high school diploma



  • Equivalent industry certification, experience and/or a college degree

  • Understanding of GBS' culture, products, processes, and services

  • Effective people and customer service skills

  • Advanced programming understanding

  • Effective people skills; highly professional and competent manner

  • Patience to solve technical problems with end users of varying technical aptitudes

  • Ability to work calmly under pressure, multitask and prioritize

  • Ability to function individually at a customer installation utilizing a pre-defined scope of work.

  • Certification and/or equivalent experience working with the following:

    • Windows Server operating systems (2003 and later)

    • Server Virtualization (Hyper-V, VMWare)

    • Server management (OS, Group Policy, Security, Administration)



  • Blade, rack, and tower servers

  • SAN Storage

  • Microsoft Exchange implementation, migration, and maintenance

  • Microsoft products (SQL, Office, Visio, etc.)

  • Networking (P2P connectivity, LAN, WAN, Cisco/HP router and switch configuration)

  • Healthcare experience (EHR, HIPAA, security risk assessment, intrusion prevention)

  • Documentation (RFP, protocols, strategies, process, procedure, training, etc.)

  • Ability to travel up to 75% within a local radius

Physical Requirements:



  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
