Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is seeking an experienced Program Manager and Energy Team Lead to join our growing Ohio Surveying and Engineering team.
With expanding opportunities in the region in the energy market, the ideal candidate will join our high achieving, fast-paced team. Ideally this person would be sitting in any Kleinfelder OH office, but will consider hybird / remote work schedule. The project work will be multi-disciplinary in nature, but experience in natural gas pipeline survey, design, and/or construction is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to lead and inspire a team are valued attributes for this position.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Leading, growing and mentoring multi-disciplined staff - supporting the achievement of professional career goals.

  • Manage all phases of project execution including project organization, subcontractor management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting

  • Nurture and grow client relationships and contracts that include complex, multi-disciplinary Oil and Gas pipeline and facility projects

  • Oversee pursuits, designate the appropriate resources to projects, define client needs, address client concerns and manage engineering resources within budget.

  • Lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams ensuring company quality standards and driving customer value

  • Devise new approaches to problems encountered.

  • Collaborate on a program of design and construction management projects striving for continuous improvement in process development and execution

  • Build relationships on technical and client service teams and within client organizations

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external teams of clients and stakeholders


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering; Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred

  • 15+ years of related experience, including 8+ years of project management experience, with at least 5+ years in the energy market (linear utilities energy projects) and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

  • Experience in a client facing role, to include relationship building of new and existing clients

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Professional Engineering or Professional Surveyor license in Ohio or ability to obtain within 6 months


Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Leadership positions in industry or community organizations

  • Supervisory experience in training, developing, and mentoring junior engineers

  • Client facing relationships with private energy companies

  • Proven track record of developing relationships with clients and growing programs

  • Midstream and/or Downstream Oil & Gas project experience
