(Remote) Communications Coordinator

The Communications Coordinator plays a key role in the Social Impact Communications & Marketing Department, supporting a team of Communications Managers and Associates as well as Social Impact Marketing staff. This position conducts research; assists in preparing and maintaining fact sheets and creative briefs; manages department tools, documents, and calendars; proofreads and occasionally writes copy; and handles other duties (including administrative) as assigned. This person should be organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This person will partner closely with the Enterprise Communications Department, in particular with the Creative Services team.

Duties included but not limited to:

The incumbent will:

• Develop fact sheets and additional communications assets and materials (messaging briefs, toolkits, etc.); keep them updated on a recurring schedule; and ensure appropriate storage, access, and version control

• Assist in development and maintenance of a story bank to support all social impact teams, ensure appropriate access and storage

• Ensure appropriate storage, access, and version control of library of standardized PowerPoint decks and other documents for teams to draw on as needed

• Participate in conference/event planning & management (e.g., prepare session abstracts, scripts, slides, notes, and speaker-ask emails for Content Managers, as needed)

• Maintain SI content calendar in collaboration with Sr. Project Manager for Enterprise Comms and various SI Comms and Marketing Colleagues

• Curate and maintain a content and web asset storage/archive

• Report on all scheduled communications activities on a weekly basis or more often as necessary

• Report quarterly on all external comms appearances, blog publications, etc.

• Partner closely with Marketing, Enterprise Communications, and Creative teams

• As needed:

o Create newsletters

o Provide writing and proof-reading support to communications managers and associates

o Provide research support for media requests and FAQs

o Participate in website maintenance and updates

o Provide assistance with social media management, listening, and influencer lists

Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in PR, journalism, communications, marketing, or equivalent combination; or education and experience

• 2+ years of experience in digital marketing and/or communications role

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Technical / professional skills and competencies such as Google Suite, Office Professional Suite, WordPress etc.

• Strong writing and proof-reading skills

• Knowledge of SEO, paid search, and social media best practices

• Experience working with content management systems

• Highly collaborative with an innate ability to build relationships across teams and sectors

• Curiosity mindset

• Interest or experience in international education, immigration, workforce development

• Ability to perform efficiently in a high pressure, fast paced environment

• Bilingualism is an asset (English/French)
