The Collins Aerospace Enterprise Architecture team is dedicated to enabling world class business system solutions and related information technology solutions to operate efficiently across the company. Digital Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cloud Architect to be a part of the Enterprise Architecture team. We are seeking individuals with a strong cloud background that can provide technology and architectural leadership, strategic direction, and long-term vision that supports the overall business goals.

This individual can sit at any Collins Aerospace domestic location or remote.


Cloud Solution Architect Primary Responsibilities:


  • Make recommendations on strategic direction and roadmap for the use and implementation of cloud platforms, including integration with DevOps methodologies


  • Development of mid to long term capability roadmaps highlighting key business outcomes that will be enabled


  • Evangelize the future/to-be states with business and digital stakeholders


  • Transform business strategy, needs and key outcomes into high level architectural deliverables (Whitepapers, Reference Architectures, Design Approach Reviews etc.)


  • Advocate and enforce applicable standards, policies, procedures, and best practices adoption and use


  • Lead and facilitate cross functional solution design discussions with business stakeholders, technology service owners, business analysts and developers


  • Participate in business, data, application, and infrastructure planning, providing insight into future of technology footprint within cloud platforms


  • Evaluate new technologies and create proposals for their adoption based on business goals, benefits, and risks


  • Ensure stability and scalability of solutions and their cross-functional integration


  • Champion continuous improvement, driving inefficiencies out of implemented processes and solutions


  • Perform assessments of the landscape and provide recommendations for improvements


  • Mentor junior architects to develop a deep talent pool


Basic
Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR


  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR


  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required


  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder


  • Must be available to travel up to 10% of the time


  • 5 years of Solutions Architecture experience


  • 4 years of cloud-based design and/or delivery experience


  • 3 years of DevOps experience


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Enterprise architecture training in frameworks and methodologies such as Zachmann, TOGAF, SAFe


  • Understanding of AWS and Azure cloud platforms and their integrations with other engineering and business systems within a large Enterprise


  • Experience developing cloud-based architectures to meet business requirements in complex environments


  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to interface with business and DT executives


  • Ability to present and discuss strategies that establishes rapport, persuades others, and establishes understanding for technical and non-technical audiences


  • Proven track record as an architect, crafting new solutions and delivering business outcomes


  • Demonstrates experience of delivering business process change


  • Ability to manage customer expectations, resource fluctuations, changing priorities, and delays in road mapped deliverables, etc.


  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
