This position earns a competitive wage of $20 - $25 per hour. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL BILLING AND CODING SPECIALIST

As a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, you play a vital role in our medical office. Every day, you arrive ready to use your organizational and mathematical talents to perform a variety of important tasks, including assuring the accuracy of all coding and reviewing insurance explanation of benefits (EOBs) and electronic remittance advice (ERAs). You diligently respond to all insurance correspondence and track global bundled payments.

You ensure transaction accuracy for everyone we work with, promptly refunding any money owed to our patients and insurance companies. All co-pays, co-insurance payments, and deductibles are posted to patient accounts quickly and without error. Always vigilant, you keep up to date with current regulations and maintain accurate records and files. You oversee all aspects of our coding and billing, including updating patient demographics and insurance information, tracking bad debt accounts, forwarding debts to the collection agency, and resolving coding, billing, and processing problems in a timely manner.

Exceptionally adaptable, you work closely with the Medical Billing Manager and physicians as needed. You perform all tasks in an efficient, team-oriented manner, conducting yourself in a way that represents our company well and encourages your co-workers to do the same. Our patients and physicians can always count on you to do a thorough and accurate job as you are highly trustworthy, observing strict patient confidentiality at all times. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDICAL BILLING AND CODING SPECIALIST

• High school diploma or equivalent


• 1+ years of work experience as a biller and coder


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel


• Knowledge about efficient filing systems, office machines, and office equipment

A medical coding certification would be a plus. Are you a detail-oriented math whiz? Can you work independently and as part of a team? Are you very organized and efficient? WORK SCHEDULE FOR A MEDICAL BILLING AND CODING SPECIALIST

This position works Monday - Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
