Qualifications
:POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum: High School graduate or equivalent.
Preferred: Associate degree in Health Information Management.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous ICD-9-CM/ICD-10 and CPT coding experience required.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and/or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiar with regulations regarding coding, compliance, and DRG/APC assignment. Computer applications, federal and
state laws regarding patient confidentiality, and terminal digit numbering.
