(CCRI) is a private, non-profit child care resource and referral (CCR) agency that works with families and communities to help ensure that all children have access to high-quality, affordable early learning and school-age opportunities and experiences that enable them to succeed in school and in life.

Under contract to Mecklenburg County, Smart Start of Mecklenburg County, and others, CCRI administers child care financial aid to help income-eligible families better afford the cost of quality childcare for children ages birth to 12.CCRI is seeking an experienced, qualified, and highly organized Financial Aid Clerk for its Charlotte Office.

In this full time position, you will provide general secretarial and administrative support for the Child Care Financial Aid department.

DutiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.

Maintains the CCRI waiting list for child care financial aid including data entry, mailings and communication with customers concerning waiting list issues.Provides consumer education to parents on the waiting list regarding other human services as needed.

Provides relief for CCRI receptionist for lunch, breaks and as needed when receptionist is absent.

This includes greeting visitors as they arrive at CCRI, notifying appropriate CCRI staff of visitor arrival, processing mail and all other front desk duties.

Process all agency mail during the business day and back up, as needed, for taking agency mail to the Post Office.

Files closed child care financial aid files and purges closed files at least once each fiscal year for off -site storage.

Manages Child Care Financial Aid Department's mail on a daily basis, understanding time sensitive materials.

Cross trains and provides back up for Child Care Financial Aid Department Aid on all duties.

Data entry for Vice President of Child Care Financial Aid and Child Care Financial Aid Supervisors as needed.

Complies with assigned work hours and demonstrates excellent attendance.

Demonstrates good interpersonal relationships with customers, fellow employees and supervisors.

Complies with all agency policies and procedures.

Works collaboratively with all team members.

Maintains confidentiality regarding departmental and agency matters.

Performs other duties as needed to further the agency's mission and goals.

Promotes a positive image of the agency in the community.

Advocates for children and families in support of the agency's mission and goals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None required.

Requirements QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school degree and post high school administrative training with two or more years of secretarial experience.

Solid computer knowledge and other administrative skills, including Microsoft ExcelEfficient with high organizational skillsGood active listening and customer service techniques.

Ability to communicate tactfully and establish good rapport with parents, child care providers, and CCRI staff.

Working knowledge of human services.

Working knowledge of subsidy policies that relate to qualifications to receive child care subsidy.

Ability to work well under stress and pressure of deadlines.

Ability to adapt to administrative and policy changes.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Good oral and written communication skills.

Bi-lingual skills a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Quantitative ability required.

REASONING ABILITY Organizational competence required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Driver's License, Auto Liability Coverage, and Transportation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands are those representative of established, general office activities including, but not limited to, the use of personal computers, other office equipment, light to very moderate lifting and are those activities that an employee must do to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
