We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with a passion for design, coding, Cloud, DevOps, and CI/CD challenges to join our team. This role is responsible for all aspects of our build and AWS deployment environments that include scaling, provisioning, monitoring, and automation. Whether you consider yourself a Software Developer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or a DevOps/Cloud engineer. What You'll Do:

• Manage mission critical systems for Capital One such as Customer logins, Second factor Authentication, Enrollment, etc.

• Collaborate dynamically with customers, vendors, and other engineering teams to deliver robust cloud-based solutions and solve complex business problems together

• Scale our applications and infrastructure to support our growing ecosystem

• Deploy reliable, maintainable distributed systems and identify, mitigate reliability risks

• Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, Groovy, and Go

• Automate the provisioning of environments using frameworks such as AWS CloudFormations, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, and Puppet

• Utilize Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services

• Adhere to industry standard security best practices

• Develop monitoring, diagnostic, debugging tools and dashboards

• Pilot new open-source tools for automation and self-service features/portal

• Debug network and performance issues in large scale distributed systems

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree

• At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

• At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

• At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with coding and Scripting (Python, Java, SQL, JavaScript, GoLang, Groovy, Bash, Perl, or Ruby)

• 2+ years of experience with Terraform or Ansible

• 2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes

• 2+ years of experience in at least one of the following CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitHub, CloudFormation, Chef

• 1+ years of experience using monitoring tools such as Splunk or NewRelic

• 2+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices

The minimum and maximum Full time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City- $156,596 and $184,748 for Senior Software EngineerLocation is Colorado- $132,699 and $156,555 for Senior Software Engineer

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
