This position, which reports to the Director of Advising, Fundraising, manages the research and solicitation of high-capacity member prospects, the cultivation and management of institutional prospects and institutional members, and implements and maintains Advising systems and databases for Way to Win as an institution. We require a highly motivated go-getter, able to effectively self-manage, and lean into our goals and campaign culture. 



Core Responsibilities

Support the research and solicitation of high-capacity member prospects 

  • Partner with Advising team to manage targeted donor relationships
  • Provide donor research to help senior development staff identify prospects for cultivation
  • Analyze giving trends, make recommendations to the Director of Advising on which donors should receive special attention
  • Provide scheduling support, prep, materials, appropriate follow up for donor conversations, prospecting, and moving resources into our funding strategies
  • Partner with internal operations team and relevant banking institutions to track money that moved from donors to Way to Win accounts. 


Support the cultivation and management of institutional prospects and institutional members

  • Support the timely follow-up from donor meetings held by Advising team and the Executive team
  • Support documenting donor meetings for Advising team and Executive team
  • Support event building and management
  • Manage visibility of donor meetings, touch-points, and action items in Salesforce 
  • Manage and conduct donor research and support the updating of prospecting and member lists


Implement and maintain Advising systems and databases

  • Build on and implement Salesforce systems to track donor engagement, money moving, and fundraising goals, including:
  • Moves Management
  • Assigning fundraising leads
  • Rapid Response Campaigns 
  • Institutional Members and Aligned Funders
  • Prospects
  • Thanks and acknowledge contributions
  • Manage donor outreach for political products 
  • Keep donor profiles up to date by supporting the Advising team in logging outreach and meeting notes.
  • Manage the contribution acknowledgement process by working with the Operations team to ensure legally required acknowledgements are sent and the Advising team to make sure handwritten thank you notes are sent in a timely manner.


Provide regular reporting

  • Work with Advising team and Operations team to track quarterly fundraising goals in Salesforce
  • Provide weekly or as-needed salesforce reports to the advising team and executive team
  • Work with Political team on giving priorities and create Salesforce campaigns to track fundraising progress
  • Pull progress reports ahead of bi-weekly meetings between Advising and Political teams. 
  • Support cross department work plans and priorities. 



Relevant experience: We are seeking a team player who is able to own projects from start to finish, jump in and propose solutions and options, and bring ambition, creativity, and passion to this work.  


You should have:

  • 5-7 years of direct experience working in organizational fundraising, donor advising, development and/or donor engagement, or similar experience providing relationship management for a member portfolio in the non-profit space.
  • Strong relationship building skills with a race, gender, and class lens.
  • Strong abilities to balance competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment
  • Collaborative, hands-on style, with an eye toward action and improvement.
  • Knowledge and experience in the management databases and donor communications.
