JOB SUMMARY FOR APPLICATION DEVELOPER:
Looking for experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Bi, and Azure DevOps
Business group – CLOUD + AI
Surrounding team & key projects – Enhancement of the existing ticketing tool on Azure DevOps, Development of new Apps in Power Platform, Development of Content Management Systems and Creation of user-friendly Power Bi reports.
Purpose of this team – The team is responsible for delivering new data as there are some gaps and the need for improvement. In need of new ideas, process improvement, tooling, and automation.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR APPLICATION DEVELOPER:
Work with Analysis, testing, and business owner teams to understand desired system functionality.
Primary developer for high complexity functions.
Provide technical support and expertise to other development team members.
Provide development lead with work estimates.
Drive Technology Architecture decisions.
Create technical design documents.
Create a development environment.
Ensure that code meets development specifications and is maintainable (comments, supporting documentation)
Create and execute unit tests exercising the code’s functionality and compatibility with other features prior to turning the code over to the test team. Communicate and defend design, requirements, feature set, functionality, and/or limitations of systems.
Resolve code issues raised by analysis or test teams.
Work with developers and other members of the project team, MS product and program managers, and vendors in accomplishing objectives.
Develop tools to aid the development process (e.g. basic test automation for all developers to run locally prior to check-in) Participate in code reviews of other developer’s work. Deliverables include Technical Architecture, Technical Design Specification, Thoroughly commented Code and Technical User Guide.
Determines business data reporting and analysis requirements, working with business units to answer key business questions; and identifies new data requirements, analysis strategies, and reporting mechanisms including key performance indicators (KPI).
Collaborates effectively with and supports internal end-users, cross-functional software development teams, technical support and/or sustaining engineering teams to solve problems, implement new solutions, and deliver successfully against high operational standards of system availability and reliability.
Builds data warehousing systems for business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.
Designs and develops dashboards, alerts, and business reports to internal and external teams for business decision making
Data administration, modeling, and integration activities in data warehouse systems
Analyzes key metrics, data findings, error reporting, and performance management control; tests solutions and resolves issues; designs conceptual, logical, and physical data models; builds and maintains multiple databases; and provides analytical support
Develops ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processes, possibly using SQL stored procedures and/or SSIS packages.
Manipulates and mines data from database tables, such as SQL server, Oracle, Data Warehouse, and FC log files.
Writes scripts that identify gaps in processes, giving the team the ability to solve issues with the identified root cause analysis.
Recommends enhancements and modifications to optimize business intelligence processes.
Educate and train business units to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new forms and content for the purpose of analysis and option exploration.
Works on medium to complex and cross-functional IT and business intelligence solutions
May perform analysis for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from various platforms.
Researches business problems and creates models that help analyze these business problems.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR APPLICATION DEVELOPER:
Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related technical field or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience.
Best vs. average:
Applications Developer, 3-5 years in Java, C#, python, ruby, scala, javascript, node, react, angular.Net, HTML5, CSS.
The client is looking for a candidate with prior experience and knowledge in this field. No time for a long-extended ramp-up.
Performance indicators: Quality of work & meeting deadlines.
Experience with SQL and Kusto queries. Able to write complex queries.
Familiarity with Power BI design capability.
Fluent with Power BI Online with real-world experience designing, developing, AND deploying content packs to enable access for remote reports
Fluent in DAX with experience developing compound measures
Fluent with Power Query M
Experience with data acquisition from COSMOS (Azure Data Lake)
Fluent with Azure DevOps, PowerApps and Power Automate
Able to develop complex Apps in Azure or PowerApps platforms
Able to write complex logic in Azure Logics or Power Automate platforms
Able to develop custom processes in Azure DevOps
From a language skill perspective: UX wise: Java script variants (TS, React, Angular) HTML, etc. Platform wise: Apache Storm and Python apps running in Kubernetes containers on Azure Linux VMs
