This position performs programming (coding) to create or modify computer applications; participates in design and analysis of computer applications; participates with other analysts in maintaining and enhancing computer applications; performs related work as assigned.

Monday – Friday – 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Flexible Schedules• Consulting with clients on application issues
• Uses application development tools and utilities as appropriate
• Monitor application usage to ensure consistency and accuracy within design guidelines and agency standards
Systems Analysis:
• Preparing the business problem definition
• Participates in information analysis and organization
• Participates in information collection
• Preparing the economic evaluation
• Participates in the solution development and evaluation
System Design & Implementation:
• Development of the functional design
• Development of the technical design
• Development of the system specifications
• Development of the implementation plan
• Development and delivery of training
• Develop support material
• Provide basic on-going support
Logical Database Design:
• Assist with gathering requirements and building logical model for design analysis
• Assist with creating logical view of business functions
• Assist with gathering requirements for data definition
Physical Database Design:
• Assist in building and managing test data
• Assists in creation of physical and logical files
• Assists with creating relational databases
Programming & Testing:
• Develop program code, assemble/compile code, and debug code
• Perform alpha/unit testing and participate in system program testing
• Prepare program documentationREQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience, education, or training in coding computer applications; programming experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
PREFERRED:
• Experience using an IBM Power I Series (AS/400)
Experience working successfully in an IBM I (AS/400) environment using RPG or RPG free form coding, utilizing complex SQL in accessing a large complex application database, and DB2/400.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere
• Experience with HTML coding
• Experience with Java, JavaScript, Java EE development and deployment
• Experience with PHP Programming language
• Experience with application development utilizing Adobe Experience Manager Forms 6.4 (Adobe LiveCycle) system designs and forms management.
• Experience with Zend Server
• Experience with Domino Designer 9 /10
OTHER:
Valid driver’s license or the ability to provide independent transportation; Ability to lift 25 pounds; Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.Knowledge of: software development principles and methods; basic math; design techniques, principles, tools. and instruments; principles, methods and procedures for designing, developing, optimizing, and integrating new and/or reusable systems components; software system testing procedures, programming and documentation.
Skills in: using basic math to solve problems; writing computer programs for various programs; effective communication; active learning-working with new material or information to grasp its implications; reading comprehension; writing, debugging and maintaining code; integrating software components; determining output media/formats.
Ability to: apply programming languages; read and understand information and ideas presented, communicate information and ideas so others will understand; reason deductively-apply general rules to specific problems to come up with logical answers and decide if an answer makes sense; recognize a problem; put information in order; organize different pieces of information into a meaningful pattern; concentrate and not be distracted while performing a task over a period of time; perceive similarities and differences in pieces of information; think logically; organize, plan and prioritize work; test, install, implement, document and maintain software; maintain source code; modify and upgrade code as necessary.
