Medical CoderLong Island City (Queens), NY The Floating Hospital, a non-profit healthcare clinic located in Long Island City, Queens, seeks an individual to join our Billing Team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of third-party billing (Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare, & Commercial Insurance), a solid grasp of A/R, collection activities, follow-up process, denial posting and resolution, and a firm understanding of the claim submission and electronic/manual posting process.  Prior experience with Electronic Health Record billing/software (AthenaHealth) preferred, as well as a minimum of 2 years healthcare/physician’s coding experience.To qualify, you must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred).  CPC or CCS certification from AAPC or AHIMA REQUIRED with at least 2 years of active experience in coding; proficiency in coding guidelines required to achieve optimal billing, preferably in Medical, Mental Health, and Dental services, current or prior experience working with an FQHC desirable.  Proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel and working in an electronic billing environment are also necessary.All candidates must be COVID vaccinatedand must receive the COVID booster once eligible. We offer a flexible work schedule & a competitive starting salary.  EOE. To apply, email resume to:[email protected] Visit us at: www.thefloatinghospital.org
