Finance & Accounting Manager (International Digital Bank)

Position Summary:

You’d be responsible for our bookkeeping, accounting, preparation of financial statements, monthly and quarterly regulatory reports, and management reports. You’ll manage the relationship with our external bookkeeper, external CPA, and our Auditors. You will conduct financial analysis and advise the CEO on how to best operate the bank from a financial perspective. Further, you will be involved in developing and managing our Finance and Risk Policies as well as our ALM strategy. You will collaborate on a regular basis with team members in Operations and Compliance functions, and you can expect to interact with clients and investors as well from time to time.

Responsibilities of this role include:

• Keep the books; maintaining the general ledger
• Develop and implement accounting procedure improvements
• Process month-end and year-end close process
• Prepare/manage Budgets and Forecasts
• With CPA, prepare regulatory and audit reports
• Annually gather & share financial info to our Auditors
• Be a critical part in building an effective, results-oriented team and creating a climate in which people want to do their best, achieve organizational and personal professional goals.

Requirements:

• 1 - 5 years in the Financial Services/Banking industry, with a background in financial analysis, enterprise reporting, general accounting
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university, preferably in Finance or Accounting
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• Strong with Excel
• Must live and work in Puerto Rico
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal – all communication in the office is in English
• Note that a CPA or MBA is welcomed but not required.

Other:

The position is a full time, salaried position. In addition to salary, we offer full health insurance benefits, opportunity for performance bonus and participation in employee stock option program. Presently "work from home" if you have a dedicated space at home with option to come into shared office location in Santurce. Expect the company to take on an office lease in Santurce or Hato Rey, where you will be expected to work 3-5 days per week. We are not looking for a bean-counter. We are looking for someone willing and able to stretch their capabilities that brings brains, effort, and a can-do attitude to make good things happen.

Pay: $37,500.00 - $55,000.00 per year
