CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Power – Generation & Energy group in Boston, MA; Norwell, MA; Syracuse, NY; Parsippany, NJ; Rochester, NY; or Albany, NY.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working closely with professional engineers, the Mechanical Engineer assists in the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, our Mechanical Engineer works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.
The Mechanical Engineer aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates for various engineering tasks. The Mechanical Engineer performs simple calculations and engineering design using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, client, etc. The Mechanical Engineer solve routine problems by applying defined procedures and attends field assignments when appropriate.
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
- EIT certification is preferred
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
- Experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks and/org other 3D modeling software for design and production of construction documents are preferred.
- Experience with load calculation software (i.e. Trane Trace, Carrier HAP) is preferred
- Has a strong theoretical knowledge in the respective engineering field
- Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various Audiences
- Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
