Your Role



Coordinates healthcare research projects by providing support for day-to-day research project plans and monitoring resources and goals across the research portfolio. Utilizes intermediate level research skills to perform a variety of research and operations-related activities including consolidating and harmonizing project data in associated dashboards and reports, data management, report preparation, and management of schedules for proposals and projects. Supports the implementation and harmonization of program management’s processes, standards, tools and best practices. Supports the day-to-day project activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Provides program management support for complex qualitative and quantitative healthcare research projects under guidance, and performs tasks related to the execution and operations of project.

Utilizes intermediate-level scientific knowledge and quantitative and qualitative research skills to perform a variety of research- and operations-related activities, data management, analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, report preparation and management of project budgets and schedules for proposals and projects.

Integrates policy with research by continuously monitoring and reviewing both the research and policy landscapes and advise on course corrections for either or both, if/when necessary.

Fosters collaboration between team members, both internal and external to the project team. Maintains communication across project teams.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES



PROJECT COORDINATION (INTERMEDIATE)



Serve as a liaison between clinical and research teams to facilitate use of VUMC research tools and resources and for determining future needs. Work closely with the department director, project managers and/or principal investigators to ensure projects are completed and are in compliance. Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Manual of Procedures (MOPs), and ensure all documentation is compliant. Maintain documentation as needed for projects and programs. Use quantitative and qualitative research methods skills to participate in the design, coordination and conduct of research projects. Foster collaboration between team members, both internal and external to the department. May coordinate focus groups or participate in other qualitative data collection.



DATA MANAGEMENT AND ANALYSIS (INTERMEDIATE)



Apply qualitative and quantitative research methods to perform preparatory, regulatory, and analytic tasking within all phases in the life cycle of a study. Review study files and produce queries for network sites. Compile, interpret, and analyze data, organize reports and metrics. Summarize, prepare and effectively present findings competently to the level of the audience. Prepare flow charts and Excel worksheets to update and represent research progress. Integrate data by linking clinical data to bench results and bioinformatics data output. Archive study specific documentation and correspondence. Manage large and/or complex datasets and use programming and statistical skills to manage and analyze data. Coordinate development of datasets, data cleaning, data validation, and data reporting. Summarize and interpret complex analyses. Maintain detailed documentation of data management and programming codes.



WRITTEN MATERIALS PREPARATION (INTERMEDIATE)



Draft sections of research proposals, and assist in writing grants, progress reports and protocols. Manage submission deadlines for federal funding opportunities. Prepare materials for presentations. Organize and format data for presentations, publications, and internal use. Create charts, graphs, and tables to summarize analysis results. Contribute to peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



Master's Degree (or equivalent experience) (Required) Biotechnology or Biomedical discipline (Preferred)
