Want to join a creative company that is on the cutting edge of amazing technologies? NVIDIA is developing groundbreaking solutions in some of the world's most sophisticated technologies including Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and Autonomous Vehicles. We are looking for software engineers to join our Behavior Planning team to improve the way we drive. As part of this team you will build our behavioral and motion planning algorithms for various design domains, which spans challenges from achieving a comfortable driving experience, occlusion handling, driver-in-the-loop situations, all the way to the long tail of traffic rules that need to be handled autonomously. You will have the opportunity to deploy your algorithms and truly have the first-hand experience of your work driving the cars of the future.
What you will be doing:
Develop motion and behavioral planning methods for different scenarios like highways and urban roads
Integrate the algorithms into our software stack and mature them to production quality
Design the planning software architecture for a particular feature or component
Test and validate the functionalities in various scenarios in the simulation environment as well as on the road
Solve problems based on product driven requirements
Design an autonomous system with safety concept that works in multiple different settings, e.g. perception sensors, map availability, environmental conditions
Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers from other domains including perception, mapping, vehicle control and user experience
What we need to see:
BS or higher in an engineering technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics, etc.) or equivalent experience
3+ years of experience in software development
Excellent knowledge of C/C++ and a scripting language such as Python
Comfortable developing in Linux or another Unix based system
Ability to think analytically and solve technical problems in a compute constrained system
Ability to multitask and prioritize
Excellent communication skills
Quick learner and hands on
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
PhD in a relevant field or related research experience is helpful
Previous experience working on autonomous vehicles and production codes
Expert level domain knowledge of planning algorithms, or having control background
Experience working with a full stack
Knowledge of CUDA is a plus
