Business Analyst

Aon is looking for a Strategic Analyst
 
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Inpoint Claims business group within Aon Reinsurance Solutions in our Chicago office (virtual).

Lead project workstreams, take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of deliverables. Develop strategic insights and recommendations while supporting the Project Leader by addressing claims operations and value chain challenges faced by insurers.

Your Impact as a Claims Strategic Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Work within the Project and Client Leader’s overall plan and guidance.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop business plans, operational strategies, and contingencies to combat identified risks within the business plan.
• Analyze synthesize and interpret complex sets of client data, developing data workflows and mapping for extensive quantitative analysis on claims financial, quality, and performance data
• Assess client risk appetite, identify unrealized cross sell opportunities, analyze capability gaps and critical success factors.
• Conduct gap analyses and provide execution support to help our clients identify and act on opportunities with willingness to learn industry level claims knowledge
• Present observations effectively through the preparation of charts, graphs and other visual elements.
• Contribute to the process of developing major client deliverables, including written documents as well as formal presentations for clients.
• Participate in business development by writing project proposals and participating in discussion with prospects.
• Build and maintain productive working relationships with clients and colleagues, establish credibility and influence where appropriate.
• Ensure effective management of time, effort, and resources to realize maximum efficiencies.
• Contribute and act on ideas to enable Aon Inpoint to deliver higher value initiatives through innovation.
• Communicate in a collaborative and client focused manner.
• Demonstrate commitment to personal learning and development beyond compulsory responsibilities.

Required Experience

• 2-4 years of relevant professional analytical experience
• Ability to perform well under pressure, on multiple workstreams, and with tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a critical eye in overseeing work of more junior team members.
• Ability to manage time effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Comfortable conversing with and presenting to client executives, Aon leadership, and Aon practitioners.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
• Team-oriented and able to work in a collaborative environment with clients and colleagues of all levels.
• Detail-oriented.
• Strategic problem-solving and critical thinking.

Required Skills

• Data Handling
• Advance proficiency with Excel (specifically Excel PowerQuery), ability to manipulate datasets to draw quantitative and strategy-forming insights
• Ability to work across multiple third-party database platforms.
• Research:
• Lead project work with thorough research across various platforms and databases.
• During client meetings and project interviews, having superior note-taking skills is critical.
• Insight Synthesis:
• Proficiency with PowerPoint and the ability to tell a cohesive story that combines the insights gleaned from data analysis and research
• Creative analysis and unconventional thinking.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
• Communication: Effective and structured communication skills.
• Fluency in mathematics and business analysis
• Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Advanced degree (MA, MS, MBA) in business/management, mathematics, engineering, economics, actuarial science or related field
• Third-party data platform experience (CCC, Xactimate)
• Experience and/or established interest in business strategy, process improvement, technology and analysis related to Financial Services or Property and Casualty claims
• Proficiency in analytical software such as SAS, SQL, Python, R, etc.
• Exposure to visualization software Qlik Sense, Tableau, Power BI
