GDIT is seeking a Deputy Program Manager who will be assisting the Cloud Program Director on executing a muli-year/ multi-million-dollar cloud contract. The Deputy Program Manager will support the Program Director in delivering highly communicative and financial reports that provide customers and leadership with the usage, monthly billing and funding utilization for the CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid) customer. Candidates must be able to communicate well with senior leadership internally and externally.
In this role you may direct a team of 2-6 individuals, monitor, and analyze the usage of our Cloud customers and make recommendations for cost optimization: including purchasing Reserved Instances and Savings Plans. Successful candidates are eager to take the initiative on a very large Cloud resell program where optimization and attention to detail is crucial.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Manages and is responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned program area including technical work, financial and business development activities.
Perform technical analysis to help Business Owners determine the impact of cloud adoption.
Supervises assigned technical and administrative staff, including subordinate supervisors, and performs personnel actions including hiring and performance evaluation.
Directs program activities to meet client and organization work objectives and serves as a liaison with clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, and solve problems.
Analyzes customer cloud requirements and may provide technical knowledge on cloud computing techniques and technologies of moderate complexity.
Assist with tracking the profitability and revenue growth of assigned program.
Assures quality of program products, services, and deliverables, including participating in reviews, audits, and site visits.
Performs business development activities at all stages, including the preparation and review of technical and cost proposals.
Performs program financial management services, including financial analysis, budget and cost quote preparation, cost management, reconciliation, and profit enhancement.
Coordinates and monitors sub-contractor, professional services and vendor activities and administers subcontractor deliverables and finances.
Develops, reviews, and approves plans, schedules, consulting agreements and other program documents.
Prepares and provides various reports and technical reviews to senior management as requested.
Ensures compliance with relevant corporate and government policies and standards.
Participates in special projects as required.
Assist with the research, evaluation, and deployment of cloud computing systems and large data analytics.
Assists with the management of the AWS master payer account with 400+ linked accounts.
Provide expertise to less experienced staff regarding AWS & MAG Cost analysis using deep understanding of Cost usage reports.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in Finance, Cloud and/or Program Management.
Cloud optimization expertise in AWS and/or Azure.
Willing to travel to Baltimore area for meetings 10% of the time.
Ability to secure and hold a public trust clearance.
Candidate must be a US Citizen to be considered for this position.
