You: Yes You! We are looking for an experienced Medical Coder to join our team. Under the direction of the Coding Supervisor, Coder I is responsible for performing various coding assignments, including education/research, to guarantee that we are optimizing billable services in accordance with AAPC and CMS guidelines. The Coder I provides accurate charge capture by reviewing providers schedules and submitted orders. Reviews medical record documentation to abstract and design diagnosis, procedures, and modifiers for statistical classification and reimbursement purposes. Provides feedback to management regarding documentation and coding issues. Provides customer service, timely follow-up, charge entry, claim submission, and coding guidance. Acts as a liaison between Revenue Cycle Department and Clinical Departments regarding coding guidelines. Assist in training the Senior Charge Entry Specialists.

Responsibilities include:
Code and bill all rendered services in 3-4 business days from the date rendered.
Guide the coding team in AAPC and CMS guidelines.
Assists team with coding education opportunities.
Reconcile rendered services and billed services monthly.
Provide knowledge support to billing team when claims deny.
Submit coded claims from CPS to Encoda.
Provide support to Revenue Cycle Team when coding edits/rejects come through Encoda.
Provide feedback loop to management when there are coding discrepancies and opportunities for providers.
Comply with relevant rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Other duties to be assigned as necessary.

Your experience: Our mission is excellence in Urology, that is why we require:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Coding Certification AAPC or AHIMA.
Must be capable of reading and interpreting coding guidelines.
Apprentice status accepted.
Prior coding experience preferred.
2 years Healthcare Experience.
Excellent level problem solving and high level of accuracy.
Demonstrated excellent people skills, verbal skills and multi-tasking skills in a fast paced environment.
Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, billing practices, and coding.
Proficient computer skills.
Proficient with MS Office Suites.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficient math skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Clear background check as will sometimes handle cash.
