About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.
As an Application Configuration Analyst on the Enterprise system Management team at FirstEnergy, you will have an impact on the team’s success. The position will be exposed to technical skills and business process used in this area. The position will involve:
- Working with platform support and applications groups for monitoring of servers, databases, network, devices, applications, and job scheduling.
- Creating and modifying various scripts throughout the environment.
- Administer and support various software tools including configuration, maintenance, upgrades and project management.
- Training in the skill sets needed to meet individualized objectives and development needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, or related degree, or commensurate in lieu of degree.
- Willingness to learn and grow within an expanding Splunk/IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) environment.
- Technical background with IT Infrastructure and Technologies preferred, including Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems.
- Basic coding/scripting experience or completed coursework in one or more robust coding languages (Python, PowerShell, PERL, etc.).
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work with complex systems containing many moving parts.
- Demonstrated research and analytical skills to define and solve problems and think creatively.
- Readiness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar subjects, as well as work independently and productively, with the aptitude to learn quickly.
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team in a remote environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Organizational skills to prioritize and plan work, multi-task and meet schedules.
