Position Summary
Incumbent validates or performs abstracting and coding, using ICD-10 CM and CPT, on the FQHC encounters. Additional duties include preparing and compiling, weekly and monthly production reports, participating in departmental PI projects and working coding related denials, along with tracking and trending denials, identifying all opportunities for improvement.
Salary Range
Hourly Rate Minimum $40.69 Midpoint $47.19 Maximum $53.69
Required Qualifications
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Credentialed as CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of the job duties
Skill to effectively assign codes
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, disease process and medical terminology
Ability to work independently and be a self starter
Minimum one year of clinic coding
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum one year of acute hospital coding experience
Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
