Job Description and Responsibilities We are seeking a Research Associate to join our Research & Product Development team in Regina, Saskatchewan. In this role, you would work closely with our program managers on product development, providing critical research to support multiple projects in our Steel & OCTG, Line pipe and Alternative Energy programs. You would design, coordinate trials and advanced testing, both internally and externally; lead and support rapid response mill technical support projects. The position requires a high level of experience in manufacturing and/or advanced materials characterization and would report directly to the Senior Program Manager, Research & Product Development. Play an active role in planning and conducting mill trials and development activities in support of divisional goals and objectives Lead short term failure analysis and process improvement projects, analyze tests results and prepare written reports summarizing findings Develop test procedures as required to meet goals and objectives of R&D project work Analyze short-term production and quality issues as required Participate in H2S rescue training (the R&D facility houses an H2S corrosion testing facility, all team members participate in rescue training) Performs other duties as they may be assigned Requirements M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Welding Engineering Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial or research experience Practical experience with statistics and design of experiments Knowledge of physical metallurgy and mechanical testing practices In-depth understanding of the processes involved in steel corrosion Project management and good organizational skills Travel within North America is required Our total compensation package includes amazing benefits!
