Job Summary: PLNU is looking for a dedicated and organized team member to support and grow within the Financial Aid team in the Graduate and Professional Studies Student Financial Services office. You will be a positive teammate who is willing to take direction but also shows initiative and can work independently. You are a fast learner and excel in handling repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment with accuracy. You are willing to support and collaborate with the One-Stop Financial Counselors to assist students and families in navigating the complex process of applying for financial assistance. This role works behind the scenes, processing financial aid, to help students' educational dreams become a reality. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Salary: Pay Range: $22.75 - $23.75 per hour Job Status: Full time Job Description: What We're Looking For: We prefer experience and knowledge of federal and state financial aid processes, though not required. We prefer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, though not required. Proficiency in Workday or Power FAIDS software is a bonus. You have an eye for attention to detail Self-motivated and able to work with regular check-ins and supervision from department leaders or teammates to communicate back progress and updates. A responsible problem solver who is able to work under sometimes stressful conditions. Proactive and positive attitude. Strong verbal and communication skills! Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred What You'll Be Doing: Reviewing, evaluating and verifying federal financial aid applications and all submitted documentation to ensure accuracy and equity Performing file verification, packaging, awarding, and revisions of financial aid program funds. Making recommendations to the Director on financial aid office policies and procedures, forms development and modifications. Assisting in audits, reconciliations, and federal and state reporting, as needed. Attending seminars, workshops, and conferences to remain current on legislation regarding student financial aid programs. Assisting in or presenting financial aid information sessions for prospective students, parents, and community groups. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Higher education preferred or at least one year direct work experience in financial aid. Ability to exercise professional judgment relating to extenuating circumstances and policy interpretation. Knowledgeable in financial aid: Federal Title IV and State regulations governing financial aid programs, packaging procedures and resolution of problems. Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant. Job offer is contingent on a clear background check. Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Vision to read documents, e-mail and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone.
