POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Director (School-based Support) supports the Associate Superintendents with all non-instructional, school-based support matters. Primary responsibilities include analyzing and problem solving related to family concerns, school operations issues, school leadership around other non-instructional issues. On occasion, the Program Director may be called on to address instructional issues outside of direct teaching and learning. The Program Director utilizes strong project management and school improvement methodology, tools, and resources to support the Associate Superintendent. The Program Director will serve as a key point of contact for effective communication and engagement between schools and appropriate resources at the district office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Possesses and maintains knowledge of District/school programming and practices.
  • Responds clearly, efficiently, respectfully, and in a timely manner to parent and community concerns that are directed to the office of the Associate Superintendent to which he/she is assigned.
  • Communicates status, key decisions, changes, and needs in a timely and effective manner to the Associate Superintendent and principal(s).
  • Develops and prepares correspondence, status reports, presentations, spreadsheets, or other related information as requested by the Associate Superintendent.
  • Provides operational support, solutions, and opportunities for schools.
  • Responds to non-instructional school-based inquiries and requests for information or support in a timely manner.
  • Makes visits to school and other district sites, as necessary, to resolve issues and address concerns.
  • Communicates information and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Analyzes information and proposes recommendations for consideration, as needed.
  • Engages with instructional leaders and provides assistance that supports the school's progress with instructional initiatives.
  • Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.

Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 5 or more pounds on a frequent basis.

Incumbent may be required to physically restrain parties involved in a conflict.

Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors.

Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records. Requirements :

EDUCATION:
  • Master's degree required.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
  • Must hold a valid Georgia Professional Certification at a Level 5 or higher.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • 5 Years of educational experience required.
  • 3 years of progressively responsible experience in at least two or more of the following: education, school level engagement, school leadership, and family engagement.
  • School District experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Knows and understands project management, leadership, support and the ecosystem of a school and its community so that they can effectively facilitate through the issues for our principals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills - particularly as they relate to problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to analyze and help solve complex problems relating to students, personnel, disciplinary actions, operations, and other management responsibilities.
  • Ability to understand school-based budgeting processes and provide assistance as necessary.
  • Computer proficient with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to understand and communicate basic spreadsheet data and analysis.
  • Detail oriented with excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage time with flexibility and little supervision.
  • Proven ability to coordinate within all levels of district management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact and partner with various levels of management, staff, faculty, and outside constituents.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in compressed time.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person work environments.


Compensation :

Salary Grade: 135

Salary Range: APS Salary Schedule (All Positions)
