The Director, Clinical Innovation, supports the Senior Vice President, Innovation and Transformation and provides direction and support of all functions related to clinical innovation and transformation, and other related efforts. This position directs and manages operations and collaborates with various departments, stakeholders, and partners throughout the enterprise to develop, implement, and evaluate related projects, initiatives, policy, procedures, and processes. The Director is responsible for upholding strong engagement with clinicians and users of the program, providing sound business analysis to leadership using quantitative and qualititative analysis tools and techniques, identifying new initiatives and processes, producing business development proposals, and sustaining program continuity. The Director of Clinical Innovation assists with strategic planning, change management, risk management, and performance management in support of the mission, vision, and values of the company.

Primary Responsibilities:




  • Lead, oversee, and direct teams to plan and implement program and clinic operations and processes, set direction, and guide resolution on problems or issues

  • Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines for related programs; evaluate and interpret regulatory changes at Federal, State, and Local regulatory levels and implement solutions or improvements to maintain compliance

  • Provide program input, support, and direction as needed to project management, product management, and related teams; initiate proposals through existing governance processes as needed and evaluate projects to assess viability, integration, and sustainment

  • Create and implement a business continuity plan; oversee monitoring and auditing of program materials, collaterals, and documents throughout the enterprise

  • Oversee the development, coordination, and execution of materials related to education and training, marketing, and internal or external communications, to include content on public websites, SharePoint, or any other communication or training platform

  • Implement process improvement activities to address areas of non-compliance or problem areas related to programs and processes

  • Ensure timely response to organizational partners and leaders as needed; develop and prepare reports and presentations as needed for dissemination to leaders and stakeholders

  • Apply critical thinking, decision-making tools, and/or root cause analysis techniques to resolve issues and identify areas of improvement

  • Ensure business decisions and operations account for all legal entity and organizational considerations, service agreement requirements, and contract guidelines

  • Assist with development of Clinical Innovation training and product management

  • Collaborate with leadership teams, physician partners, and key stakeholders as needed for program implementation and sustainment of programs

  • Facilitate meetings as needed and prepare agenda and minutes when appropriate

  • Monitor budget planning and return on investment efforts

  • Develop program goals; identify and implement opportunities for growth while addressing areas of improvement and assessing and managing risk

  • Develop and communicate performance metrics, individual and business goals, and expectations; identify performance deficiencies and determine appropriate resolution

  • Drive implementation of best practices and standards based on data analysis; apply metrics to evaluate service performance and program outcomes

  • Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including interviewing, hiring, developing, directing work and processes, and rewarding employees

  • Leverage healthcare and business acumen to provide guidance to staff; assist staff in navigating enterprise processes, provide coordination oversight, and ensure staff are current in training requirements

  • Mentor team members and encourage personal and professional growth

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, building personal networks, and participating in applicable professional organizations

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:




  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Health Administration, IT, or related field

  • 5+ years of healthcare experience, to include experience in a managed care, hospital, and/or physician practice setting

  • 3+ years management experience in a healthcare environment

  • 1+ years of experience working in telehealth, project management, and product delivery

  • Experience with managing and mitigating risk in projects and program operations

  • Experience with contributing to technical discussions around technology decisions and strategy

  • Experience with achieving goals and milestones in a fast-paced dynamic environment with a bias for action and willingness to take calculated risks

  • Highly proficient in data mining, analytical and reporting skills; must be able to review and interpret data to make recommendations to senior management

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft applications

  • Ability to create sound business arguments backed by data

  • Ability to travel as deemed necessary by business need

Preferred Qualifications:




  • Graduate degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or IT, or related field

  • Professional certification in healthcare management, project management, or related field

  • Experience working with Agile development methodology

  • Experience in management of teams and programs

  • Experience in a corporate setting in a healthcare environment

  • Ability to lead and influence across different organizations and align diverse teams to a common goal

  • Ability to handle multiple contending priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600.
