Description


As the Senior Director, Property Portfolio Manager, you will be reponsible for managing a product research and/or product analysis function for a Product Management department. Conduct complex and in-depth research and analysis to identify, develop, and implement strategic initiatives, including product distribution strategy, pricing strategy, new product development, and underwriting. Works with Senior Management to set benchmarks and evaluate performance of new products, programs and tools. Present work to Product SVPs, Chief Product Officer, and SBU President.


 


Responsibilities



  • Manages product analysis or research operation.

  • Works with Senior Management to set benchmarks and evaluate performance of products, programs, and tools.

  • Sponsors complex projects aimed to drive change throughout the SBU.

  • Provides leadership on initiatives countrywide.

  • Delegates analytical and modeling projects and gives direction to staff at all levels of the organization.

  • Sponsors projects for SVP/ PLVP and Chief Product Officer that will significantly impact SBU results, including those with cross-functional reach requiring executive buy-in.

  • Sets department priorities on competitor intelligence and drives SBU strategic initiatives (cross-functional).

  • Sets department priorities. Utilizes research to determine strategic direction for operation, assigned line of business or distribution channel.

  • May establishes vendor strategy, managing vendor relationships, and negotiating contracts for service.

  • May works with senior management to set benchmarks and evaluates the performance of vendor products/services.


 


Additional Qualifications



  • Good working knowledge of at least 1 catastrophe model, preferably AIR

  • Ability to communicate Catastrophe modeling concepts to a non-technical audience

  • Analytical/technical mindset with an understanding of Catastrophe models and Financial models outputs


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field

  • Advanced degree and/or ACAS/FCAS designation preferred

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in jobs with progressive responsibility, preferably in insurance

  • Must have exceptional planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making and communication skills

  • Experience managing individuals or operations required

  • Excellent analytic, quantitative and problem solving skills proven ability to leverage skills and influence other leaders across the SBU

  • Expert knowledge of product offerings, business processes, product line systems, underwriting rules, pricing plans and databases

  • Expert knowledge/expertise of external competitor product offerings, pricing plans

  • Expert understanding of insurance concepts and financial metrics
