Blue Origin s Flight Sciences Navigation team is looking for a talented software engineer to develop software for launch vehicles and spacecraft. The selected candidate will participate in the full software development lifecycle to include requirements specification, flight software development, and verification of the system. Additionally, the candidate may build out simulation and testing infrastructure in support of testing of the flight software.


Join our small, passionate, and accomplished multi-disciplinary team that is responsible for tying the sensors data and algorithms together in software to produce precise navigation systems. Your contributions in the areas of software development, and software testing, will enable the team to advance the state of the art in navigation.


This is an opportunity to gain hands on experience with developing space vehicle navigation systems and advancing systems to meet requirements for an ever-growing demand for re-usable launch systems. Above all, we are looking for a software engineer that is intellectually curious and has a strong desire to continuously improve the capability and quality of our products with a dedication to safety. This position may be filled at the 2, 3 or senior level, depending on the candidate s qualifications and experience. This role can be located out of Seattle WA, Huntsville AL, Phoenix AZ, El Segundo CA, Woodland Hills CA, Reston VA, or Space Coast FL. We offer a robust relocation package for relocation to these locations.


Qualifications


  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • Enthusiasm for DevEx, DevOps or leading in software best practices.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum


Desired


  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, or related discipline
  • Experience developing software to be used in safety critical contexts. Familiarity with DO-178C, ISO26262 or similar safety standards.
  • Experience working with Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs), Global Position System (GPS) receivers or other complex sensors.
  • Experience in C/C++, MATLAB, and Python
