JOB DESCRIPTION:
Performs intermediate skilled human resources functions within the Human Capital Management Department including benefits administration, classification and compensation, employee relations, risk management, safety program and workers’ compensation, recruitment, training and development, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the assigned Human Capital Management Administrator.
The ideal candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels throughout the organization. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, review own work for accuracy and maintain strict confidentiality are all attributes that are essential to succeed in this position. Attention to detail and organization is vital in this role and will be required to be successful. Prior experience in any area of Human Capital Management is highly desired.
Qualified candidates will be required to participate in online testing, which will consist of Basic Microsoft Word (2016) and Basic Microsoft Excel (2016). Candidates will receive separate testing notification via email or text messaging and must complete testing as instructed; no extensions of deadline will be given.

Minimum Qualifications
Associates/Technical degree in human resources or a related field and three to five years' experience in Human Capital Management/HR functions, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Qualifications
SPHR, PHR, or SHRM Certification preferred
OSHA 30 Hour Training preferred
Oracle Fusion experience preferred
Obtain National Incident Management (NIMS) Training based on assignment.
Must meet and maintain all training and education requirements for the position.
Valid Arizona Driver’s License of appropriate class.
The City reserves the right to consider only the most highly qualified applicants. The succeeding examination processes may be required: training and experience, testing, panel interview, employment eligibility verification (EEV) requirements, personnel evaluation profile (PEP), polygraph test, background investigation and alcohol/drug screening test. Appointment subject to successful background investigation and City paid post-employment medical examination after offer of employment has been made.
