Our clients offer top-tier pay for top-tier talent

We're recruiting this role for our client, Alpha - an EDU Startup

Have you got what it takes?

Are you one of the 200,000 students per year who graduated with a liberal arts degree and a basket full of dreams, only to find yourself underpaid, underemployed, and underwhelmed? Does it feel like every HR rep in the country looks at your resume and asks: “How is your expertise in English Literature going to help my business?” On average, undergraduates expect to make $104k per year after graduating, but a liberal arts or humanities major will only net students a paltry $32-38k per year—barely enough to avoid moving back into your parents’ house.

If you graduated from an elite university just to find that your major is harshly undervalued by the job market, there’s a place for you at Alpha

We believe the skills that got you into and through a prestigious degree program (i.e

strong work ethic, focus, and the ability to hold yourself to a high standard of excellence) are valuable

For that reason alone, we’re willing to invest in you

If you want to break into the startup world but are worried that your background isn’t quite right, this is your opportunity.

Alpha is building the Stanford of K-12 education

We are a private equity-backed EdTech startup with a life-changing value proposition for students and plans to expand rapidly

We make three promises to students and their families: students will love school, students will learn 3-5x faster through the use of adaptive learning apps and learning science principles, and students will learn valuable life skills to supplement their academic training.

This is a two-year program that gets you involved in our business on the ground floor

You will spend this time in a student-facing role, leading inspiring life skills workshops, guiding students through a rigorous academic workload, and helping them tap into their love of learning

Our students will benefit profoundly from their exposure to high academic achievers like you

By the end of the program, we will help you advance your career in the direction of your choice, whether at Alpha or beyond

You do not need any background in education to be considered for the role.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Live workshops: One-hour sessions with K-12th grade students, coaching them on valuable life skills like public speaking, focus, and giving and receiving feedback
  • Motivation sessions: Encouraging students to advance in their academic apps and achieve their learning goals

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Teaching or tutoring

Students learn solely from self-guided, adaptive learning apps.

  • Leading traditional lectures that students find boring or lack interaction.
  • Pushing kids to the point of burnout or disengagement.

Youth Development Specialist Key Responsibilities

Follow our time-tested playbooks to ensure that:

  • 100% of students achieve their academic goals
  • 100% of students master core life skills, as measured by real-world challenges

Basic Requirements

  • Graduated from a Top-20 undergraduate program in the US
  • Legal right to work in the US without visa sponsorship and willingness to live in a city with an Alpha campus
