Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Hours: Normal 9-5 operations, with exceptions during emergencies

Travel: Minimal

Position Purpose:

Austin Street Center seeks an experienced and highly motivated Director of Information Technology (IT) to oversee planning, development, implementation, maintenance and security of the agency’s information and technological systems and related processes. This role provides expertise and direction in the development, deployment, and use of information technology at Austin Street, while administering and operating the agency’s central administrative computer networks. This role further ensures consistent, efficient, and effective technical support services, further responsible for installation, testing and oversight of all network hardware, personal computers, software, and related equipment.

This role will:

  • Develop, manage, and monitor information technology systems policies and controls, information security, asset tracking control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures a robust information technology program is in place, while monitoring and supporting as appropriate, data warehousing, reporting, analytics, and system to system integrations.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications on projects regarding pertinent IT activities.
  • Work with cross-functional departments to evolve systems and recommend new technologies geared towards continuous improvement of processes and operations maximizing efficiency.
  • Diagnose network and server hardware problems and implements solutions with support providers.
  • Protect the network via antivirus software, email filters, and other appropriate technologies.
  • Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring systems performance.
  • Evaluate hardware/software/cabling requirements, and the need for upgrades as appropriate.
  • Remediate vulnerabilities identified by external Pen Tests, Vulnerability Scanning, and vendor/package patch notifications, to ensure vulnerabilities are remediated in a timely manner.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain information security and risk management strategy.
  • Coordinate appropriate training sessions for faculty and staff on an as-needed basis.
  • Consult with senior leadership team to identify and prioritize technology and business needs.
  • Administer the department’s budget, within budgetary guidelines to contribute to cost-effective operations related to technological needs of the agency.
  • Performs other job functions as assigned.

Skills / Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, or related field is preferred.
  • At least five years of experience managing an IT department.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in latest technology for IT systems and management.
  • Adept in networking implementation and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
