About the Team
The Collect Platform engineering team is what drives Qualtrics XM Platform. You will be building leading edge technologies that will enable our customers to collect the data they need across the 4 key XM funnels.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will apply your distributed systems knowledge, familiarity with frontend development, databases, various storage engines, and web service design and implementation to build extraordinary software and services. Each team has freedom on choosing the stack on each project, allowing engineers to experiment and excite them to learn new, up and coming technologies like, reactjs, GoLang, Scala, Spark and Galera. Primarily, our stack includes AngularJS, node.js, Java, PHP, JavaScript, mongoDB, MySQL, and Cassandra.
Success includes authoring and loving simple solutions to solve hard customer problems and crafting systems in an agile environment to withstand hyper growth. The Challenge
We're looking for an experienced Software Engineer specializing in front end development and Design Systems to join our Front End Infrastructure team. On this team, you'll work on the technical design, implementation, and maintenance of the Qualtrics Design System used by hundreds of engineers across our engineering organization.
Day in the Life
- Design and build high-quality User Interface Components according to UX designs and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- Lead the Technical Design of various front end solutions to help build and maintain the Qualtrics Design System
- Collaborate with Software Engineers, UX Designers, and Product Managers to gather and understand solution requirements
- Provide Technical Leadership on the team through code reviews, design discussions, and other opportunities to help improve the technical quality of our team's codebase
- Work with external engineers and other stakeholders to help them understand and utilize our technical solutions
- Mentor others on the team and help to improve team processes
Experience required
- Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2-5 years of meaningful engineering experience
- Experience with React or another UI component framework
- Experience with component API Design
- Experience with various front end tools such as webpack, babel, jest, etc
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and experience writing code that meets those standards
- Experience working on internal or open-source Design Systems
- Experience building and maintaining front end developer tools
- Experience understanding, triaging, and debugging accessibility issues
