As a Senior Youth Counselor with the Alpha program your job will be school-based prevention program that targets at-risk elementary school children. The services provided by the Alpha program include mental health counseling, life skills lessons to classrooms, assistance with academic enrichment, and encouraging parent involvement.The Alpha program works in a collaborative partnership with the Neighborhood Center for Families located throughout Orange County, Florida. Counseling services are provided on a variety of issues including - but are not limited to - depression, anger, school difficulties, self-esteem, motivation, trauma, anxiety, and grief. Under the supervision of a licensed professional, counselors will develop case plans, perform psychosocial assessments through interviewing of clients and parents, provide therapeutic counseling to clients, and assess the needs of the client and family to refer them to appropriate support services and programs. Most importantly, all functions must be completed while maintaining high standards of ethical and professional conduct while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Level II Background clearance
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Registration driver's license record in accordance with the underwriting guidelines set by Aspire insurance company as described in the AHP Corporate Transportation Policy 3.9.1
- Master's Degree in a Human Services field
