The Data Engineering - Data Management Services department is seeking highly motivated full stack developers to join our Metadata Solutions team. Our team is responsible for the management, support and development of GEICO's metadata management platform. Our team's mission is to build a program where metadata collection is embedded in all aspects of the data lifecycle, in the least intrusive way possible. As a developer on our team, you will be expected to develop solutions that further enhance our metadata collection process.

Qualified candidate should have a demonstrated ability to deliver first-class software that solves real business problems. He or she must be able to perform advanced-level application analysis, design, development, unit testing, and implementation activities in cloud-based environments. You will also be expected to provide input and feedback to others on topics of architecture design, code quality and business solutions. You will also partner and work closely with the Enterprise Data Governance team to ensure that the platform support the needs of our governance initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Experience in Azure Ecosystem (Azure Data lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Bricks, Azure Storage, Cosmos DB, ADO)
Understanding and experience working with Microsoft Azure DevOps (work items, build/release, CICD)
Track-record of successful project delivery, building collaborative cross-functional relationships, and an ability to find creative ways to solve business problems
Strong analytical, critical thinking, decision making, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and still function as an integral part of a team.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Possesses an understanding of Agile methodology & framework
Ability to multi-task, organize and manage multiple stakeholders/projects simultaneously and work in a very fast-paced environment
Must have a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and initiative
Demonstrable capacity for learning technical concepts and adapting to new technologies quickly
Ability to recognize and apply an appropriate sense of urgency to projects and tasks
Understanding of code development best practices, process design and automation, security concepts, Agile concepts, tools, and technologies.
May be required to be on call for production support 24x7

Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Metadata management tools Collibra, Alation
1 to 2+ years of experience in Collibra workflow creation which can operate xml, csv, json based metadata objects
2 to 4+ years of experience working with Java, XML, and/or Groovy
Demonstrated experience with API development, JSON, XML, and SOAP
Experience with relational database concepts / technologies (SQL, Oracle, etc.)
Azure DevOps experience using GIT, to develop and deploy code to production
Experience with Spring Boot framework is a plus
Demonstrated ability to design, build, and maintain complex BPMN workflows, java classes, & groovy scripts
Experience building and utilizing custom java API's
Strong understanding of metadata management best practices and framework
Ability to stay current with evolving best practices in data management
Must be able to perform under pressure and stressful situations
Experience with at least one or more public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Understanding of data Ingestion, data transformation and data management services and technologies
Knowledge on Data Ingestion/ streaming tooling such as Kafka, Spark, or similar technologies
