Kitchen Designer | Remote | Chicago, IL (HQ)


  • This position is 100% remote but candidates should be in the Chicago/NW Indiana/SW Michigan area**


This is an exciting opportunity for a Kitchen Designer to join a fun-loving and hard-working design team that creates spaces that make people feel welcome, where they do not want to leave.


We are seeking for our client a detail-oriented, client focused, and self-motivated kitchen designer to join our clients fun-loving design team. In this role, the kitchen designer will run design projects from conceptual development and liaising with the clients, managing and executing the design, to design completion. Key Responsibilities


  • Managing multiple client projects at different phases, shepherding the client from design development through to completion of construction/installation
  • Managing ongoing project deliverables for clients and contractors
  • Finish and fixtures selections and specifications including millwork, cabinetry, tile, appliances, plumbing and lighting for high-end kitchen and bath remodeling projects with a high level of accuracy
  • Develop design boards and other visual communication techniques to communicate an overall design concept and finish and fixture selections
  • Ability to get clients to make decisions and move the project forward in a reasonable timeline
  • Specifying furnishings, wall coverings, floor coverings, and other decorative elements
  • Specifying architectural elements such as doors, windows, flooring, and millwork
  • Manage project budgets and timelines
  • Develop construction documents, elevation drawings, millwork drawings, plumbing and electrical schematics, details, schedules and specs
  • Project management and administration throughout construction
  • Manage and mentor junior designers, delegate tasks and deliverables


Qualifications


  • Bachelor s degree in interior design preferred
  • 4-6+ years of experience in the residential/kitchen/bath interior design field, including being lead on projects/project managing projects
  • Proficient with AutoCAD; experience with Studio Designer software, entering items and making proposals is highly preferred
  • Experience in kitchen/bath design, residential renovations (including powder rooms, mud rooms, dining room areas, etc.), and construction project management
  • Excellent client management and project management abilities
  • Knowledge of cabinetry standards and products, both in terms of design and installation
  • Knowledge of finishes, fixtures, materials and specifications and ability to meet independently with clients to discuss pricing, selections, and drawings
  • Familiarity with residential design standards and construction processes
  • A car and be willing to travel to jobsites in the Chicago Metro area (North Shore, Oak Park and River Forest predominantly)
  • Strong visual, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently and think independently
