Job Summary: 


The SharePoint Developer will assist with the design, development, implementation, administration, maintenance and support of the Firm’s multiple SharePoint environments.


Job Relationships: 


This is a professional position, which will report directly to the IS Manager of Application Development.  The scope of responsibilities is firm-wide, and the incumbent will be in frequent contact with the SharePoint Architect and other members of the Programming Group.  Some contact with other managers and directors in all offices is likely.


Job Responsibilities


Primary Responsibilities:


SharePoint Development (70% of Work load; Approx):



  • Gather user requirements and develop SharePoint applications on the SharePoint platform using out of the box capabilities, SharePoint Designer, Microsoft Visual Studio and SharePoint API.

  • Design, Develop and deploy Custom SharePoint module including but not limited to WebParts, Workflows, Timer Jobs, Event receiver and other custom SharePoint features.

  • Design, Develop and deploy custom web services using SOAP/Rest APIs.

  • InfoPath forms development.


SharePoint Administration (30% of Work load; Approx):



  • Assist with the daily checks and maintenance of SharePoint environment health.

  • Assist with ensuring complete and accurate SharePoint backups on a regular schedule.

  • Assist with ensuring appropriate site quotas, usage information, search settings, and InfoPath are consistently maintained throughout the SharePoint farms.

  • Assist with testing and implementation of the Windows Security patches, SharePoint service packs, cumulative updates and version upgrade.

  • As-needed troubleshooting of SharePoint environment problems.

  • Assist with tracking storage utilization and planning for necessary hardware upgrades to support the environment.


Secondary Responsibilities:



  • Evaluate third party SharePoint tools and web parts and provide resourceful recommendations.

  • Regular research and reporting on SharePoint trends and best practices.

  • Collaborate with fellow developers and IT department staff in the design, development and support of firm applications.

  • Assist on any application development projects and Information Systems projects as necessary.


Job Specifications:


Education:



  • BA or BS in Computer Science

  • Relevant MS certifications for SharePoint are a plus.


Experience:



  • 5 years development and administration experience with Microsoft SharePoint platform and technologies covering SharePoint 2016 and recent experience with SharePoint Online

  • Web development experience in the past with progressive career path leading to SharePoint development is ideal.

  • Strong sense of team membership and participation.

  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to work independently; under pressure with interruptions and tight deadlines.

  • Must be resourceful, detail-oriented, organized and proactive to the needs of the job.

  • Must be a team player and able to work effectively with attorneys, legal staff, management, peers and subordinates.


 Job Specific Skills:



  • A good understanding and hands-on experience of SharePoint 2016/Online administration and development.

  • Expert on the out of the box SharePoint capabilities.

  • Hands-on experience with site definitions, site columns, content types, list definitions, event handlers, feature receivers, application pages, and feature solution deployments.

  • Hands-on experience with Share Point UI customization, site themes, master page branding and various UI customizations by using JQuery and JavaScript.

  • Hands-on experience with search configuration and search results customization.

  • InfoPath and SharePoint Designer workflows 2010/2013.

  • Hands-on experience with web part development.

  • Familiarity with Power Apps/Power Platform.

  • Web application development background. Programming Language Knowledge – C#, ASP.​NET.

  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server 2016/2017/2019 and MS Windows Server 2016/2019.

  • Familiarity with IntApp Integration Builder tool is a plus.

  • Familiarity with legal market vertical applications such as Elite 3E and iManage is a strong plus.
