Summary:
The Ocean Export Specialist is responsible for coordinating shipments to ensure adequate service levels are met. This position oversees the company's operational functions and is the direct liaison for assigned shipments.
Job Duties: -
- Oversees all Ocean export transaction.
- Prepares all necessary documents such as commercial invoices, export declarations, certificate of origin, letters of credit and all other international export documents in a proper and timely manner.
- Arranges shipments through shipper's contracted carriers
- Reviews pertinent domestic and foreign trade regulations
- Communicates with vendors, government agencies, customer and carriers
- Responsible for AES Filing and compliance regulations
- Maintains organized files monthly by customer for all international shipments
- Other duties as required and assigned by supervisor
Requirements: * High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in exportation of goods, 3 years of which must have been with an Ocean Freight forwarder or Ocean carrier.
- Knowledge of Letters of Credit preferred
- Knowledge of the movement of freight via ocean
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Work, Access and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to multitask
- Meet the requirements to be a QI per FMC
- Mathematical skills essential to ensure accuracy in pricing
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
