IT Business Analyst / Product Specialist

Labcorp is recruiting an IT Business Analyst / Product Specialist for a dynamic team in Durham or Burlington, NC. The IT Informatics team at Laboratory Corporation of America (Labcorp) has an opportunity for talented IT Business Analyst / Product Specialist to join a motivated and productive team in delivering enterprise-level solutions. Responsibilities:

• 
  Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis

• 
  Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs

• 
  Proactively communicate and collaborate with customers to analyze information needs and deliver functional requirements, use cases, and user interface designs as necessary

• 
  Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully leverage solutions

• 
  Serves as the conduit between the business community and the Informatics team

• 
  Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams, support teams, and business partners/vendors

• 
  Develop requirements specifications such as data availability needs, high-level data flows, schemas and measure definitions.

• 
  Proactively communicate and collaborate with customers to analyze information needs

• 
  Provide input into test plan creation and support test plan validation as required for Quality Assurance

• 
  Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously

Requirements:

• 
  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business or related discipline

• 
  5 years of experience working in similar role as BA / Product Specialist

• 
  Strong working knowledge of SQL or data analysis

• 
  Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as Crystal Reports, WebI and Tableau strongly desired

• 
  Experience in the healthcare and/or IT strongly desired
