The Sr Director of GSK Value and Innovation is a highly visible position within GSK US Market Access as well as across all Commercial Business Units, reporting to the head of the US Market Access Strategy team. This individual will be responsible for leading Portfolio-level Access Strategy individually as well as via a best-in-class Market Access Enterprise Marketing team that drives access strategy and execution within Market Access and across multiple cross functional departments.


The Sr Director of Value and Innovation will be a key member of the Market Access Strategy leadership team and will serve as a principal contributor to shaping the Above-Brand Portfolio and Enterprise Access strategy within the US market. They will be responsible for looking across enterprises and markets at larger trends and assessing comprehensive impact to GSK market access strategy.


This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead critical activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:


  • Lead the development and execution of portfolio–level access strategies and initiatives in conjunction with direct reports and key partners across US Market Access teams

  • Lead the evolving strategic plan for above-brand GSK market access engagement with priority Enterprise customers and downstream partners

  • Develop and facilitate discussions concerning strategic portfolio recommendations with GSK Market Access Leadership Team, detailing any changes to strategic priorities as needed

  • Assist in the development of US Market Access Outlook to inform brand planning across the organization (e.g., perspectives on biosimilar landscape evolution, policy changes that might affect our products, key customer evolution)

  • Identify market access trends and developing business solutions that capitalize on market opportunities

  • Track and communicate changes in the healthcare landscape, competitive activities, and trends in Enterprise dynamics as well as changes in the regulatory environment that impact access strategies for Enterprise customers (pricing, distribution, services, etc)

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive, innovative, value-creating strategies, ensuring they maintain strategic prominence with key stakeholders across the GSK portfolio

  • Develop an integrated 3- to 5-year Market Access strategic plan, which includes integration of short- and long-term access strategies in an annual Brand Planning processes

  • Monitor evolving models of care (i.e., Enhancing Oncology Model, Third Party Pathways etc.) and leading strategic planning initiatives in anticipation of/response to key market events

  • Develop and cultivate important and influential relationships with cross-functional business partners and stakeholders, including other Commercial Operations teams and the product brand teams.

  • Develop internal working partnerships with global market access, Value Evidence & Outcomes (VEO), Pricing, Contract strategy, Patient Services, Advocacy / Policy, and Legal to drive critical decision making and ensure proper execution.

  • Develop, recruit, and retain the best people and be accountable for development plans and employee engagement

  • Demonstrate responsibilities for other customary activities including budget management, performance evaluation, coaching, discipline etc.

Basic Qualifications:


We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:


  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus area in Marketing, Science, Finance, Pharmacy, or Public Health

  • Thorough understanding, knowledge of and experience with US healthcare dynamics and the drivers of pharmaceutical value

  • Substantial (7+ years) US-based experience with market access strategies, account management, product launch, pricing, contracting, reimbursement, distribution, and patient services concepts.

  • Ability to recognize complex relationships and market dynamics and to synthesize simplified, direct and effective communications

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing and analytical skills combined with an ability to successfully collaborate across a matrix organization


Preferred Qualifications:


If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:


  • MBA, MPH, PharmD with an area of specialization in Marketing, Finance, Pharmacy or Public Health; or prior experience in Health Economics/Outcomes Research

  • Demonstrated responsibilities for budget management, performance evaluation, coaching, discipline etc.

  • Prior sales experience a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, matrix assignments to achieve business objectives

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across a matrix environment and navigate without formal authority to deliver on business results

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and confidently defend informed recommendations

  • Ability to lead through change and inspire agility/flexibility amongst team

  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills

  • Ability to implement programs that deliver improved business results in a timely manner combined with ability to adapt to changes within the internal and external environment
