The Opportunity:

The Assistant Director for Leadership Annual Giving will play a critical role in the effort to grow mid-level giving with a primary focus on alumni.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Manages and retains a portfolio of at least 75 donors by cultivating relationships through consistent outreach and personal visits to build their affinity and grow their philanthropy to the university.

  • Cultivates, solicits, and stewards leadership level annual gifts.

  • Conducts face-to-face visits with leadership annual giving donors and prospects.

  • Identifies over 500 new prospects through strategic discovery processes to increase the number of alumni that contribute to the university at a leadership level.

  • Collaborates with assigned colleges to develop and execute on annual and long-term strategic goals that connect alumni and build their affinity to solicit philanthropic contributions.

  • Develops meaningful touch points for cultivation and stewardship through collaboration with Alumni Engagement by recruiting and enlisting volunteer leaders to assist in engagement activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful fundraising experience. Ability to effectively communicate, handle multiple priorities, and handle the pressure of deadlines.

  • Able to travel, attend and conduct meetings on and off campus, and make presentations before large and small groups. Expertise in relationship building with new donors while maintaining ongoing relationships.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Comfortable operating in a matrixed environment. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Experience working in a complex University environment. Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and CRM systems. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve goals with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
