Software Quality Principal Engineer - Edge Software Engineering

Our Software Quality Engineering team ensures that our next-generation software is of the highest quality. We conduct a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that our software meets or exceeds end-user requirements. We debug software products, oversee the development of test plans, ensure system tests are documented, review the results, provide feedback to developers and make sure that all problems are resolved. We also select testing specifications for new products and ensure testing procedures comply with industry-specific standards.

We are seeking an experienced QA engineer who puts quality at the center of product development and will work towards delivering best customer experience for Dell's rapidly expanding Edge Business.

What you'll achieve

The Dell Technologies Edge Portfolio team is developing a North Star architecture and SW Platform that enables Dell to win at the edge. You will have an exciting opportunity to make a huge impact on the Dell's strategic Edge business while building a highly scalable software platform with cutting edge technologies.

As Software Quality Principal Engineer, you will develop test strategy, create, and iterate test plans, test cases that include resource requirements, schedule assumptions and scope based on defined product backlog. You will work with Product Development; Product Management teams to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate to develop comprehensive test plans across Dell's Edge product portfolio.

You will:

  • Gather, learn and review software requirements, shaping them into actionable items, tests, and automation.

  • Be responsible for designing and executing of test plans and implementing the automation for Edge platform.

  • Automate using a variety of tools such as python, selenium, and an internal automation platform

  • Define and implement concrete tests and metrics, create exec reports and present, improve our stability by troubleshooting and integrating smart solutions to existing components.

Essential Requirements
  • Requires 10+ years of System testing and QA experience with a Bachelor's/Master's degree.

  • Expertise in building test strategy and creating test plans working with Developers within a Scrum team.

  • Expertise in the design and development of test tools, automation scripts & frameworks for cloud platforms.

  • Experience in driving the test execution and reporting the results of product validation on new hardware and SW products.

  • Strong automation skills using Python, Robot Framework, API's Testing, Selenium, experience in Test Engineering Automation to evaluate new tools and technologies.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in building test strategy and automation for cloud management platforms using microservice, event-driven architecture; experience in setting up and operationalizing CI/CD pipeline for test automation.

  • Good working knowledge in Linux virtualization, container runtimes, and Kubernetes container orchestration, experience in Manageability and Orchestration software testing.
