Summary:


This position will be responsible for the digital microscopy image analysis for tissue-based immunohistochemistry (IHC) and multiplexed immunofluorescence (mIF) image data generated in a CLIA-based environment. The role will focus analysis development activities including image processing and algorithm design and development using commercially available software such as Visiopharm, and Halo. The role mainly involves conducting analysis of data from service contracts leading to successful completion of client projects


Responsibilities:


Core Responsibilities


Work closely with the scientists as well as pathologists to develop and optimize mIF and IHC image analysis


Perform image analysis from service contracts leading to successful completion of client projects using commercial software such as Visiopharm, and Halo


Conduct imaging algorithm transfer and perform verification and/or validation of the algorithm


Working in a team-environment as a member of Pharma Services


Contribute to the development of algorithms for microscopy-based feature extraction, classification, detection, and quantification; leveraging imaging physics to enhance algorithmic performance


Identifying and applying appropriate algorithms for new data analysis situations


Aid in hands-on clinical and experimental data analysis using a variety of computational and statistical tools and techniques.



Additional Responsibilities (may be assigned):


Providing disease, clinical, and data analysis expertise to healthcare related projects.


Maintaining up-to-date clinical knowledge in oncology and other disease areas.


Documenting results and recommendations through written reports, peer-reviewed publications and presentations to a variety of audiences.


Transition novel diagnostic platforms from research to product as part of a cross organizational, cross-disciplinary team


Working with customers in a strong research collaboration environment


Evaluating and extending new concepts as well as providing innovations which can be developed into new product advantages


Leadership in area of expertise to move projects forward


Position Objectives:

Education:


Ph.D. in a life, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering preferred; M.S., B.S. in a life, physical or computer science with related experience


Experience:


2+ years� industry experience in application of image analysis to histopathology/computational histology


Qualification Requirements:


Understanding of digital microscopy imaging applications and analysis (whole slide scanning, fluorescent or hyperspectral or other methods of digital imaging including calibrations, optics, resolution, etc.)


Proved experience working with algorithm development and visualization of results


Experience with software programming and machine learning techniques using Visiopharm, Halo and Perkin Elmer� s Inform.


Experience with one or more programming languages is strongly preferred such as Java, C++ (STL), Python or MATLAB.


Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, and defend data generated in well controlled experimentation


Demonstrated Oncology knowledge/experience


Outstanding clear communication skills (written and oral)


Highly self-motivated and goal oriented; attention to details


Certificate Compliance Requirements:


Travel Required:� Less than 10%
