Job Summary
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Remote Pilot is responsible for UAS Program development, support, equipment maintenance, research, flight plan creation, supporting UAS training, certification, observation and operation of UAV flights to support business needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Works with others to optimize preventive maintenance programs
- Ensures work in assigned area is completed on time, within budget and quality expectations while adhering to safety and regulatory compliance
- Performs and ensures all required pre/post-flight operational checklists and inspections are completed
- Performs data quality assurance to ensure accurate data is used in reports, databases and files
- Extracts, collects and formats data to populate reports, files or databases
- Creates and maintains documentation related to procedures and processes
- Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues
- Acts as a subject matter expert in area of field
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and (Technical) Competencies Desired
- Knowledge of flight plans, protocols, sensors, and other technologies for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles as needed to perform at the job level
- Skill in facilitating discussions and meetings as needed to perform at the job level
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products – for example Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access – as needed to perform at the job level
- Ability to apply safety policies, theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques as needed to perform at the job level
- Competency in developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
Minimum Qualifications
- High School or GED-General Educational Development-GED Diploma
- FAA Part 107 Current, Remote Pilot Certificate, Small UAS-Unmanned Aerial Systems
- CA Class C License, or equivalent
- Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, commercial, 150 hours
- Experience with UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, maintenance or build
- Experience with UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, various sensors
- Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, multi-rotor platforms
- Ability to travel using personal vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Aeronautics or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- AUVSI-Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International Trusted Operator Program Level 2 Certification, or similar
- Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, multi-rotor or fixed-wing platforms
- Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, utility inspection
- Flight experience, UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, fixed-wing platforms
