Summary
Provides direction, leadership, and oversight of the Business Services Department. Responsible for approving loans within assigned limits, managing the risks associated with the Business Services loan and deposit portfolios, and providing oversight of the Business Services department. Works closely with the Chief Lending Officer to ensure alignment between department objectives and Credit Union strategy.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Collaborates with the Vice President and Executive teams to develop the Credit Unions strategic pillar, Helping Businesses Thrive.
Leads and supports the Business Services team to meet the strategic initiatives and goals of the Credit Unions Business Services Program.
Provides leadership and expertise to the Member Business Loan Committee (MBLC). Coordinates credit administration functions with the Business Services Credit Manager.
Responsible for the overall credit quality of the business loan portfolio. Approves loans and exceptions within assigned limits. Works closely with the Business Services management team to review credit presentations prior to presenting to the Member Business Loan Committee and Board of Directors.
Develops and manages appropriate policies, procedures, and guidelines for the business loan and deposit programs. Ensures NCUA and State of Oregon regulatory adherence.
Responsible for fostering and developing new and existing business and community relationships within the Credit Unions field of membership. Develop, lead and participate in the business development and community development strategy and activities. Works closely with all Business Banking and Commercial Relationship Managers to deepen relationships with existing small business and commercial business members, and to develop new relationships with local businesses and centers of influence (COIs).
Collaborates with the Chief Lending Officer to create and implement strategic sales and service initiatives.
Responsible for the hiring of department staff. Provides ongoing coaching and performance management of the Business Services team to ensure attainment of business objectives and budgeted performance goals. Collaborates with the Business Services management team to lead team engagement activities. Fosters and develops positive department culture and cross-functional engagement.
Oversee origination and business lending activities, including commercial real estate lending (CRE), commercial and industrial lending (C&I); member business loan products (MBL); business deposit products (checking, money market); and business banking services.
Develop and oversee monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on business services activities, goals, key program metrics, etc. for the Chief Officers, Board of Directors, auditors and examiners as appropriate.
Work in collaboration with Marketing team to determine appropriate marketing strategies to increase business loan and deposit production.
Direct member and prospect calling efforts to expand business and deepen relationships.
Serve on Credit Management Committee (CMC), ALCO and other senior committees as needed
Provides area expertise and support to Credit Union leaders and stakeholders to enhance the overall member experience. Partners with the VP Member Experience to further develop the business member experience.
Manages relations with various vendors in support of the Business Services Department.
Seeks ways to streamline work processes and continuously improve the Credit Union.

Education/Experience
Bachelors degree in business or related field. Equivalent work experience may be substituted for degree. Minimum eight years of progressive experience in commercial credit administration and analysis, commercial lending, and business development. Minimum five years of supervisory and program management experience.

creating documentation, record keeping and maintaining accurate RCCU records.
Demonstrated well-reasoned decision-making skills with a high attention to detail in actual work product, organization, planning, workflow and project prioritization to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
Deep knowledge of commercial loan documentation requirements.
Proven working knowledge of credit policies, Credit Union regulations, and standard accounting principles as related to commercial lending.
Outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, and collaborative abilities. Ability to develop and foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Comfortable with the development and delivery of presentations.
Ability to work independently as well as in groups. Ability to remain member focused and result oriented as priorities shift.

Knowledge and understanding of the Credit Unions products, services and Loan Policy, along with general knowledge of the federal and state laws and regulations that govern business lending.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct supervisory responsibility.
Travel
Occasional local travel.
Interpersonal Contacts
Frequent contact with employees, members and vendors. Occasional contact with community organizations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $123,281.60 - $169,517.92 per year
