Azure Cloud Engineer

This position is responsible for net new Azure builds and the re-configuration of existing systems to shift from the IaaS model to PaaS/SaaS where appropriate. Needs related experience in building out systems on Cloud platform from on-premise virtual machine technologies. You will be working with a team of engineers and admins that make up the Level 3 Infrastructure support tier.



Job Responsibilities

• Design, build, configure and migrate systems and services to the Azure cloud


• Maintain systems and automations / scripts to support and improve cloud infrastructure


• Respond to escalations and assist Operations team as needed


• Create documentation and host training sessions with peers


• Perform cost analysis and work with teams to implement cost savings

Skills & Abilities

• Bachelors Degree in Technology, Networking or Server Management OR related experience


• 3-5 years related experience


• Azure Expert level certification preferred, Associate also acceptable


• Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining Cloud Systems in Azure (3-5 years).


• Propose, develop and support automation solutions for new system deployments


• Maintain internal and customer facing cloud services (serverless and container-based)


• DR and Backup environment build and/or maintenance experience


• Proficiency with Azure CLI and Terraform or other scripting languages


• Creation of architectural diagrams and runbooks


• Familiarity and willingness to cross train and learn new technologies (AWS, Windows/Linux)


• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written


• Strong collaboration skills - inclusive of internal & external stakeholders
