The Role
We are looking for a motivated Azure Data Architect to join our BI Analytics Development Team. The successful candidate will work in a team that supports Willis Towers Watson Finance, HR and Marketing departments.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluation of different Azure product offerings to determine the best product match for the documented requirements
- Research, design, and engineer business and technical solutions leveraging MS Azure
- Lead Architect for development of build of the Cloud BI Reporting Solutions
- Liaisons between users, customers, stakeholders and systems supported by the BI Analytics team
- Work both individually and as a member of a large team
- Functions as technical project or team leader; representing the organization on cross functional project teams
The Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field is required
- 5+ years work experience in a software development environment
- Hands on experience with Azure platforms including Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage(2), Azure Cosmos DB, SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS
- Understanding of MPP data warehouse architecture
- Expertise in T-SQL (queries, Stored Procedures, User-Defined Functions, Views, Indexes, etc.)
- Experience deploying and troubleshooting key cloud network technologies: Load balancer, Application load balancers, firewalls, etc.
- 5 or more years of experience of integration of solutions deployed Azure Cloud with on premise data centers, and with other public cloud providers.
- 5 or more years of Application development experience using ASP.NET, C#.NET, Java, Web Services, XML, JSON, WebAPI, Java Script , JQuery, HTML 5,CSS, IIS, Rest Services.
- Strong Data Modelling experience
- Solid knowledge in SQL, security standards, BI tools, ETL tools and Microsoft Azure specific technologies
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of Power Bi architecture and integration with Synapse Analytics and SQL Server
- Experience with Visual Source Safe, MS TFS , Subversion(SVN), Git, Visual Studio, MS DevOps
Additional skills and experience preferred:
- Knowledge of Oracle Database, Cloud Concepts, Autonomous Data warehouse (ADW), Data Integration/ETL (ODI)
- Experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle BI Applications (OBIA).
